Organisation Secretary

John was one of the founder members of Meridale back in 1965, long before the rest of the staff team were twinkles in their parents' eyes! Along with a group of friends, John arranged for Meridale to become a meeting place for the young people of the village. Read more about this in the Meridale History.

John ensures everything runs smoothly for the different community groups and organisations that use the centre.

On Club nights, he can often be found in the kitchen, slaving over a hot grill to bring bacon butties and pizza and chips to the hungry Club members!

Andrew is the Treasurer for
The Meridale Organisation.

During his time at Meridale, Andrew has worked hard to make the Club even better for young people in our community. One of his greatest achievements was in 1998 when he won the Multi-District heat of the Lions Youth Award, becoming the first young person in our area to gain the award. The bursary he received went towards the purchase of a Community Computer.

Allie joined Meridale in 1998 whilst studying for an Arts degree. As part of her final project, she devised 'Let's Celebrate Sutton!', which was so successful it is still a regular event 12 years later.

Allie's main role at Meridale is taking care of the admin and is Secretary to the Organisation. She is always very involved with the organisation of community events.

JAMES DOBNEY
Youth Club Treasurer

Daniel began his Meridale career in December 1997 as a Committee Trainee. He soon graduated from making coffee and sweeping up, and became an indispensable member of the team. He now looks after the Meridale computers and is compositor for the bi monthly Community Newsletter.  Like many of our members, James began his time at Meridale at Kidz Klub. He is Treasurer of Midway Club. He feels Meridale is good for the young people in our community because the Club is run by young people themselves. Although James now works full time in Peterborough and several other places across the UK but he still finds the time to attend Meridale at the weekends.
