Acre Gap is an area of nearly six acre's of wetland lying between Church Lane, Sutton on Sea and Sea Lane, Sandilands. It is remembered for being the spot where the sea undermined the sea defences and broke through in the floods of January 1953.In 2003, the site was aquired by Mablethorpe & Sutton Town Council from East Lindsey District Council who owned the land. Working with the Town Council, a local volunteer group is now managing and improving it into a wetland wildlife site. The

Sutton On TV was a collaborative event, where members of Meridale worked alongside a professional artist to contribute to the international TV Swansong Webcast. A video was filmed, scripted by a Meridale Staff Member, starring members of the clubs, and this was broadcast on the evening of the webcast. Meridale members also wrote and produced a 'studio' presentation, which was aired live on the night. Plans are already underway for the next extravaganza!
